Elite Foals Registration Tour Rules 2019
1. Entry and eligibility
i) Elite Foals (UK) Ltd. reserves the right to reject any entry without giving a reason. If an entry is rejected and no reason is given, any monies paid to Elite Foals (UK) Ltd. will be refunded within thirty days from the time the entry is rejected.
ii) Entries close on Friday. 2nd August 2019 at 5pm. Entries may be accepted after this date at the discretion of the organisers, but a late entry surcharge fee may be due to account for additional admin costs.
iii) Any documentation requested by Elite Foals (UK) Ltd. must be submitted by Monday, 5th August 2019 at 5pm. After this time, any entries for which the required documentation has not been submitted may be rejected. In this instance, any monies paid will be refunded by 3rd September 2019, less an admin charge of £25 per entry.
iv) Entries which have not been paid by Friday, 2nd August 2019 at 5pm will be rejected.
v) Withdrawals which are received before the closing date will be refunded only on receipt of a vet’s certificate, less an admin charge of £25 per entry.
vi) No refund will be given in the event of withdrawal after the closing date under any circumstances.
vii) Any entries made by, or believed to be made on behalf of, a person whom the organiser believes owes money to either Elite Foals (UK) Ltd., or Elite Stallions (UK) Ltd., or any of the venues or vets supporting the tour, will be rejected.
viii) The organisers reserve the right to alter or cancel any class they see fit without giving a reason
ix) Foals must be sired by either:
a) A stallion who is licensed and/or approved by a studbook that is recognised by the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses or;
b) A stallion who is licensed and/or approved by one of the studbooks in attendance on the day of registration
x) The foal’s dam must either be registered with, or eligible for entry into, one of the studbooks in attendance.
2. On the day of the regional event
i) Anyone who fails to comply with the rules laid out by Elite Foals (UK) Ltd. will have their entry rejected and no monies already paid will be returned.
ii) The organisers reserve the right to ask anyone in attendance at any of the regional shows or the national final, to leave the venue immediately, without giving a reason. If the person or persons will not leave voluntarily, they may be forcibly removed.
iii) All entrants and their associates or representatives must obey any instruction given by a member of the Elite Foals (UK) Ltd. team or any member of staff at the competition venue, at all times. Anyone failing to comply with instructions or rules may be asked to leave, and any entries and monies paid in respect of those entries will be forfeited.
iv) The welfare of all horses in attendance is paramount at all times. Anyone whom the organisers believe is abusing or mistreating any horses on the premises will be asked to leave immediately. Any entries and monies paid in respect of those entries will be forfeited.
v) Any horses, who are, in the opinion of the on-site vet, showing signs of any infectious or contagious disease will be required to leave the premises immediately. Any entries and monies paid in respect of those entries will be forfeited.
vi) All mares and foals will be presented individually by the professional handlers provided by Elite Foals (UK) Ltd.
vii) Mares must wear a bridle with a bit. A pair of reins, undone at the central buckle must be attached to the bit.
viii) Mares must wear a bridle number on each side of the bridle; numbers will be allocated and made public no later than 48 hours before the day of the event on www.elitefoals.co.uk.
ix) Mares and their foals must be present at the holding ring no later than five minutes before their slot. Anyone who misses their time slot will forfeit their entry. Time slots will be allocated and made public no later than 48 hours before the day of the event on www.elitefoals.co.uk.
x) Owners and their associates or representatives may not enter the arena while the mare and foal are being presented.
xi) During the ‘Walking Ring’ stage, the professional runners will present the mare and foal. The foal must be left loose, and may not wear any form of headcollar or slip while in the arena.
xii) Owners and their representatives are welcome to take photos and videos for their own personal use, but no photos or videos may be advertised or sold at the venue or at any point after the event other than by the official photographer and videographer.
xiii) Foals will receive an overall score out of 10. Decimal points may be used. The top five scoring foals in each section (and any foals tied for those places) will be invited to the regional championship ring, and the judges will decide which foal will be awarded champion and reserve champion.
3. The championship final (qualification and the final)
i) All of the rules from the regional events will also apply at the final unless a different rule or procedure is outlined in the specific rules for the final.
ii) There will be no entry fee for the championship final.
iii) Stabling at the final is mandatory and all competing foals must be on site by 2pm on the day of the final. Stabling charges will apply and be invoiced separately.
iv) Regional winners in each of the four sections will be invited to compete at the final, provided the foal has a score of 7.5 or higher. If the regional winner is unable or unwilling to attend, or does not confirm their entry by 30th August 2019 at 5pm, they will forfeit their right to attend and the reserve regional winner may be invited in their place. If the regional reserve winner is unable or unwilling to attend, the place at the final may be awarded to the third-placed entry only at the discretion of the organisers, and so on down the line.
v) Additional entries may be invited at the discretion of the organisers.
vi) Entries for the final and their handlers may be required to wear branded clothing or tack. Anyone unwilling to do so will forfeit their right to entry.
4. Breeders and owners, and their representatives and their associates may appear in video and photographic material used to promote the Elite Foals (UK) Registration Tour and their associates or representatives. Those not wishing to be filmed or photographed must make the organisers aware in advance.
5. The organisers and landowners will not be held responsible for any injury or incident to breeders, owners, grooms, spectators or any person or property whatsoever, however caused. It is a condition of entry that each entrant shall agree to indemnify the promoters, organisers and landowners against any legal action arising from such incident.
6. Mares must be vaccinated against equine influenza and must have had the correct course of vaccinations, followed by annual boosters, with the last booster given within the preceeding 12 months. Mares who have recently started or re-started the course of vaccinations must have had the first two vaccinations in the course. There will be spot checks and any mares found to have lapsed may be eliminated, and the entry will be forfeited.
7. The decisions of the judges and organisers are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
8. Making an entry constitutes acceptance of these rules.
